Dr. Singleton is a seasoned higher education leader and practitioner with a career that spans over two decades at both public and private institutions. Over his career, he has served in several roles and appointments in higher education ranging from Counselor to Vice President for Student Affairs. Dr. Singleton has been nationally recognized for his advocacy for students.
In his current role as Associate Vice President for Student Success, Dr. Singleton is responsible for providing strategic vision and oversight to developing and implementing services, activities, and opportunities that complete the Augusta University student academic experience. He serves as a thought leader and strategic planner in cultivating student learning, engagement, retention, student success, graduation, and career development. Since his arrival in 2022, he and his colleagues have implemented changes that have resulted in increasing and exceeding institutional retention goals.
He is a dual graduate of Mercer University having earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from the Tift College of Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the College of Liberal Arts. He also earned a Masters degree in Public Administration, with a cognate in Education, from Troy State University.
