Dr. T.J. Smith currently serves as the Director of Customer Relationship Management at Shelton State Community College, bringing over two decades of experience in enrollment management and student success. His career began in admissions at the University of West Alabama and has since expanded to include leadership roles in recruitment, advising, enrollment services, student success, retention, and innovative enrollment strategies at both two- and four-year institutions. He is also a past president of the Alabama Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and has been recognized for his contributions to the Alabama Community College System, as well as for serving on the Executive Committee of the Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. Dr. Smith earned his doctorate in Higher Education Administration from the University of West Alabama, where his dissertation focused on rural students' access to higher education, as well as a master's degree from the University of North Alabama. He has 21 years of experience in higher education and three years of corporate management experience.
