Originally from Michigan, Scott has been in higher education enrollment management and leadership roles for over two decades. His experience in leading high performing teams throughout his military service as well as marketing and executive level recruitment roles prior to higher education administration had empowered him to pursue his passion in working with students and helping others achieve their goals.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a Master of Business Administration from Davenport University and is a current Indiana University-Bloomington doctoral candidate (ABD) in the higher education and student affairs (HESA) program. Scott is currently completing his dissertation research which is dedicated to community value perception in public higher education.
Scott has taught both undergraduate and graduate courses within the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business while being recognized as the 2017 Elvin S. Eyster Teaching Scholar for his contributions to the business faculty in co-authoring research that aided in the knowledge expansion regarding student group formation and team dynamics in the classroom.
He has enrollment and admissions leadership experience with multiple public and private universities, most recently as the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management with the University of Montana and currently serves as the inaugural Director of Admissions and Enrollment Strategy with the Montana University System and its 16 campuses within the state. His current work is dedicated to resident student access and affordability, most notably, leading the launch and adoption of a statewide centralized application system and college and career readiness portal which has helped to elevate Montana to be recognized as a leader nationally in these areas.
In whatever time he has left, Scott can be found spending quality time with his wife and two daughters, on a lake bass fishing, or searching for his golf ball around his local course.
